Experience Ottawa’s art scene like never before. Three of the city’s leading cultural voices—the National Gallery of Canada, the Ottawa Art Gallery, and the ByWard Market District Authority—are teaming up to bring you Art Walk 2025, a one-of-a-kind afternoon of art, conversation, and community.

What to Expect

• Kickoff at the National Gallery of Canada: Gather on the outdoor amphitheatre steps, beside Louise Bourgeois’ iconic Maman, for an inspiring talk with Sobey Art Award short-lister Tania Willard and Curator, Rachelle Dickenson.
• Self-Guided Art Walk: Stroll through the ByWard Market with map in hand, visiting independent galleries and discovering what’s new in Ottawa’s vibrant arts community.
• Spot Talks & Curator Conversations at OAG: Wrap up the afternoon at the Ottawa Art Gallery with intimate artist spot talks in the exhibition, plus the chance to connect directly with OAG curators.
• Raise a Glass: Enjoy a complimentary glass of bubbly while engaging with Canada’s next generation of artists.

This event is your chance to hear directly from Ottawa and Canada’s emerging artists, see the latest in contemporary art, and experience the city’s cultural heart in motion.

Plongez dans la scène artistique d’Ottawa comme jamais auparavant. Trois acteurs majeurs de la scène culturelle à Ottawa, soit le Musée des beaux-arts du Canada, de la Galerie d'art d'Ottawa et l’Autorité du district du marché By, s'unissent pour présenter la Promenade des arts 2025, un après-midi pas comme les autres, mêlant art, conversations et communauté.

Ce qui est proposé :

· Coup d’envoi : le programme débutera dans l’amphithéâtre extérieur du Musée des beaux-arts du Canada, à côté de Maman, la monumentale araignée en bronze de l'artiste Louise Bourgeois. Une discussion captivante avec Tania Willard, finaliste du Prix Sobey, vous y attend.

· Promenade autoguidée : carte en main, explorez les galeries indépendantes du marché By et découvrez les plus récentes créations de la scène artistique ottavienne.

· Visites éclairs et commissaires en conversation : terminez l’après-midi à la Galerie d’art d’Ottawa en profitant de causeries d’artistes dont les œuvres font partie de l’exposition , puis échangez directement avec les commissaires de la GAO.

· Levez votre verre : pour finir en beauté, savourez un verre de bulles et jasez avec la nouvelle génération d’artistes.

Ce rendez-vous culturel mettra en lumière la création contemporaine à travers des rencontres avec des artistes d’ici et du Canada, et offrira un nouveau regard sur la scène artistique d’Ottawa.
