ArT @ 967 Payne is super excited to make its exhibition spaces available for ‘Art Through The Ages’—a vibrant community art showcase uniting creative voices across generations. Guided by artists and educators Tamina Muhammad and Abderrahmane Belfatmi, this special exhibition celebrates the theme ‘Twin Cities Reflections,’ offering inspiring perspectives on the landscapes, people, and stories that shape our community.
On August 14-17, step into ArT @ 967 Payne to discover original works by novice students—neighbors of all ages who, many for the first time, have found the courage to express themselves through painting. Attendees will journey through scenes of Minnesota’s natural beauty, historic landmarks, and joyful everyday life. Interactive and inclusive, the showcase invites dialogue, empathy, and reflection, encouraging all who visit to see the Twin Cities anew and feel more deeply connected to their community.
This project was born from Tamina Muhammad’s vision to make art accessible to everyone, regardless of background or experience. Inspired by the transformative power of creativity, and with generous support from the Minnesota State Arts Board and Legacy Fund, these painting classes were designed to break down barriers, foster mindfulness, and encourage personal growth in a welcoming, supportive setting.
Participants in these classes describe the experience as truly life-changing—gaining confidence, new friendships, and a profound sense of accomplishment. Many shared, “I never thought I could paint like this or see my work in a gallery!” The showcase stands as testimony to the joy of discovery and the bonds forged as we create and celebrate together.
