Registration required; walk-ins accepted as space allows Join us for a conversation with Dr. Barbara Robins, associate professor of English at the University of Nebraska Omaha and co-creator of The Face of War podcast, speaking with Dr. Rudi Mitchell, Umoⁿhoⁿ veteran and Patricia White Bear, Dakota veteran. The group will discuss several works at the Museum that reflect Native American traditions of service, sacrifice, and honor, including photographs by contemporary Ho-Chunk artist Tom Jones and an Umoⁿhoⁿ warrior shirt from the late 1800s. There is a long history of service in the Native community; during the past 200 years, Native Americans and Alaska Natives have served in the Armed Forces at five times the national average. In addition to the speakers telling stories of service, there will be opportunities for attendees to share stories and memories.
