ART TALK: Jaime DeSimone
Doors open @ 6 pm
Between 1981 and 1985, pioneering sculptor Louise Nevelson (1899–1988) and other members of her family donated more than eighty paintings, prints, drawings, sculptures, and pieces of her jewelry to the Farnsworth Art Museum. With subsequent gifts and purchases, the Farnsworth has one of the world’s most significant collections of Nevelson’s work. Selections of her creations are currently on view in the traveling exhibition Louise Nevelson: Dawn to Dusk.
Join Jaime DeSimone, the Farnsworth’s Chief Curator, to hear the story of how Louise Nevelson became the iconic artist she is remembered as today, and discover her relationship with the museum and the growth of its celebrated Nevelson collection.
