Bolton artist, Pete Marsh will be leading this 2-hour event which is split between an Art Talk (1st hour) and demonstration in the 2nd hour on the subject of painting.

About Pete:
Pete Marsh completed an Art Foundation course at Bournville School of Art, Birmingham in 1979 and graduated in Fine Art (Painting and Printmaking) at Sheffield Polytechnic in 1982.
Pete’s work was selected to represent the college at The Stowells Awards exhibition at The Royal Academy, London in 1982. He returned to Birmingham to work as Gallery Technician at Ikon Gallery between 1982 and 1984 before moving to Manchester where he worked as a member of the stage crew at two music venues, The International and Manchester Apollo during the mid-1980s. His interest in live music along with the effects of light (both natural and artificial) is evidenced in his painting and printmaking.
From 2017 to 2022 Pete was “Artist-in-Residence” at The Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival, Colne.
In 2022 Pete was awarded The Selectors Choice Prize at “Rhythm: Art In Conversation With Music”, The Storey, Lancaster. The following year Pete won The Haigh Award at Printfest 2023. Pete exhibits in England and Scotland and was delighted to have two etchings in the ING Discerning Eye 2024 exhibition.
Pete’s work is held in private collections in the U.K., Europe, U.S.A. and Australia.
