Art Roundtable: Exploring Fundamentals of Art Appreciation with Ami Fagin

Come join in on a lively discussion enriching your understanding of the wonders and mysteries of the world of art while enjoying brunch with some new friends. Art Roundtable: Exploring the Fundamentals of Art Appreciation is facilitated by area visual artist, Ami Fagin on Sunday, November 10, from 12:30 - 2:30pm.

The cost of the session is $25.00 per person. Includes a delicious brunch, dessert, and beverages.

Amy Fagin is a U.S. based visual artist specializing in a modern translation of the traditional art form of manuscript illumination. She is owner Ketubah In.Design, a gorgeous collection of original watercolors crafted into ltd. ed. archival digitally printed illuminations. Amy’s ketubot compositions incorporate a distinctly cerebral curiosity with a sinuous arrangement of space, pattern, symbolism and imagery that is genuinely transcendental.
Amy is also the author of Beyond Genocide; a series of contemporary illuminations narrating a visual documentary on the legacy of genocide and mass violence. An independent scholar in genocide studies, Amy conducts research, seminars, lectures, workshops and advisory work on global initiatives of memory and memorialization through individual and collective arts expression and the museum experience.

“Ami’s” newest, and seriously lighthearted line of work: Visual Haiku emerged in the late summer of 2015 as a daily watercolor meditative expression articulating life’s challenges and opportunities. One Hundred and One Visual Haiku Volumes I and II are gorgeous fine art volumes of two hundred and two visual poems printed in full color and on finest grade paper stock. Volume III is due out in summer of 2023.

Off-the-Wall Canvas Creations is an intermittent muse in Ami’s body of work emerging from her visual haiku. These acrylic explorations “writ large” are bold and alluring compositions of line, shape, color, and contrast. Individually crafted and printed on Ami’s Epson 9900 HDR each canvas is as delicious as a layer cake, and as mesmerizing as a night sky.
