Join us for a workshop where we'll be crafting sculptures out of foam, duvets and pillows. The sculptures will be on the floor of the installation space for people to lie on, and will be part of the audio-visual art installation “Matter of Time”. The exhibition will be open during the Growing Nordic Festival in UKH. We’re four artists from various disciplines and on Friday we will be in the middle of our artistic exchange in the UKH Art Residency. We invite you into our process of creating the exhibition with us.
No prior experience is needed and we will provide all the tools you need.
Background: Exploring the concept of time is like a journey inside an object of cascading paths - each branching out in multiple directions. Time can feel personal, as we’re taking our time or setting time aside for ourselves or it can feel impersonal and sterile as we’re locked onto someone else’s time schedule or some structural process. The waiting room is a place where we’re not in control and time might seem like it's going in circles.
In our exploration we’re trying to reimagine the waiting room and we’re inviting you to look to the sky and sweep away into intermediaries of time. In this installation light and sound become moving materials, as we ask you to find your own stories among them.
