The show will be open February 3-27th.
Regular gallery hours are 9-6 Monday through Friday and 9:30-4 Saturday EXCEPT when rented for private events. Guests can call the office to inquire about visiting a particular date at 502-895-3650.
ARTIST STATEMENT
"This work is about commingling patterns that exist in life and in art. For as long as I can remember I have loved visual patterns both repeating and irregular. More intellectually I have been interested in patterns observed from life, social patterns, traffic patterns, patterns in nature. Each pattern viewed individually may appear static and regular but patterns do not exist in a vacuum, intermingled with countless other patterns they collide and conflict or harmonize. This work is an experiment, meshing two or more patterns to create something unexpected.” - Samuel Parker
ARTIST BIO
Sam Parker has lived and worked as a professional artist for more than two decades. He received his MFA in drawing and painting from Kennesaw State University in 2004 and his MFA From Georgia State University in 2010. His illustrative work deals with personal allegories and social mythologies in the context of modern culture. Sam Tattoos at Good Karma tattoo located inside of Mellwood Art Center. Sam creates murals and shows his work nationally.
