Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind opportunity for your child! At Art of the Imagination Summer Camp, campers will learn that imagination has no bounds and explore their creativity alongside artists featured in the Museum and Museum staff! This engaging camp provides hands-on activities where campers learn the art of storytelling, make their own toy, and examine how everyday objects can become truly transformational with imagination.Highlights from our three-day schedule include:
Day 1–The Art of Storytelling
Campers will explore the art of storytelling through the Museum’s Portraits of Childhood: Black Dolls from the Collection of Deborah Neff.
Day 2–The Art of Imagining
Artist Stephen T. Johnson will join the camp to encourage campers to consider how ordinary objects can be transformed into creative and whimsical pieces.
Day 3–The Art of Creating
Campers will design and make a figure or creature with a unique story with guidance from collector Maria Vasquez Boyd, visual artist Sue Moreno, and writer Miguel M. Morales.
July 10–July 12 from 1:00–4:00 PM
Registration includes a camp t-shirt, a daily snack, art project supplies, and lots of FUN!
