About this Event
Art of Happiness: The Happiness Tour + South Asian Contemporary Art Gallery Amsterdam
October 3rd | 15:00 – 18:00
An art gallery transforms into your personal sanctuary - offering you a space to pause, reflect on life’s transitions and gather tools to help you navigate to a path of clarity, emotional release, and deep personal renewal.
If you are craving a pause and a way to process life’s natural transitions, this 3-hour tour is for you. Guided by happiness researcher Nuthan Manohar and art curator Tasneem Hatimbhai, we will blend
✨mindful movement
✨soulful connection
✨art immersion to help you navigate change with resilience and renewed energy
✨chai and treats to snack on
The Art of Happiness invites you to explore the "lives of objects"—and our own—beyond their original contexts.
Through a curated neighborhood walk and deep dialogue set against and amidst the show, Upon Us After, we will examine how we can move from fractured spaces into a new, hopeful realm.
Come as you are—leave lighter, brighter, and equipped with fresh perspectives.
- Group Size: Limited to 15 to ensure deep, authentic connection.
- Investment: € 40 (A portion of your ticket directly supports community access for those in need).
What We Will Do Together
- 👋 Arrival & Settling In (30 Min): Start with a warm welcome and our signature Let’s Play micro-icebreakers. We’ll build psychological safety, shake off the day, connect and shift into an embodied, present mindset.
- 🚶♂️ The Story Walk (60 Min): We head into the neighborhood for a curated stroll on the theme of transitions. This is a sensory practice of 'decentering' the mind, featuring our Reverse Treasure Hunt—a mindful game to find positive sensory anchors in the environment.
- 🖼️ Gallery Immersion: 'Upon Us After' (60 Min): Dive deep into the works of Amra Khan, Naira Mushtaq, and Sehr Jalil. We’ll use art as a mirror to explore themes of change and aftermath, with interactive discussions to reframe our own narratives. We will arrive at fresh perspectives on navigating life.
- ☕ Chai & Closing (30 Min): We wrap up with shared Masala Chai (Indian spiced tea) and treats. Our final circle allows us to harvest insights, share personal 'wellbeing pledges,' and leave fully connected.

About The Exhibition
What remains after an image is fractured, a monument falls, a home disappears, or an object is separated from its original context? What continues to persist when histories are rewritten, inherited, forgotten, or transformed?
Upon Us After brings together the works of Amra Khan (PAK), Naira Mushtaq (PAK/UK), and Sehr Jalil (PAK/UK) in an exhibition that considers the lives of objects beyond their immediate function or origin.
As objects move between generations, geographies, and systems of power, they accumulate new meanings and shed old ones. They become witnesses to personal and collective histories, carrying traces of what has been lost, remembered, altered, or erased. In this sense, translation is not merely linguistic; it is material, cultural, and political.
