Gopal Murti, PhD retired from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in 2008 and has created a second career as an artist. His vibrant work has won numerous awards in juried art shows and as well as many fans and admirers. He is not afraid to try new techniques and approaches, and his works range from abstract to landscape and more.
"My art is eclectic in terms of style, subject, medium, and substrate. I am triggered into painting by many factors. The sudden bloom of flowers following a cold winter spell, or the cacophony of Canadian geese in the playground next door, or the spectacular formations of birds in the Memphis sky, or the war Ukraine, or the unique solar eclipse in the sky–all motivate me to paint," said Murti.
Dr. Murti has a special admiration for Church Health and is generously donating all proceeds from his show to the organization.
The show will be on display through the month of September.
