About this Event

The non-profit Gateway Arts is a world-renowned studio art center, store, and gallery providing professional support and representation to adult artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health diagnoses, brain injuries, and other neurodiverse conditions.
Established in 1973, this Brookline gallery has become the artistic home to nearly 100 talented artists. Gateway helps bring their unique artistic visions to life, partnering with museums and galleries in the Northeast to exhibit their work in a competitive art world.
Artistic Director Bil Thibodeau will talk about Gateway’s rich history and colorful future. We'll explore the work of artists from Gateway's formative past, such as Bohill Wong, Cathy Anderson, and Robert Kirshner. We'll also look at works by Kristina Barney and Carmella Salvucci, and successful newer artists such as Abigail Randall and Farah Faustin (see work above). This is the fourth and final lecture in our Speaker Series, provided through a grant by the Charlestown Community Impact Fund. Come get inspired!
