About this Event
Join the Center for Art Law for a CLE program to train lawyers to work with visual artists and their unique copyright needs.
Center for Art Law’s Art Lawyering Bootcamp: Copyright Law is an in-person, full-day training aimed at preparing lawyers for working with art market participants and understanding their unique copyright law needs. The bootcamp will be led by veteran art law attorneys specializing in copyright law.
This Bootcamp provides participants -- attorneys, law students, law graduates and legal professionals -- with foundational legal knowledge related to copyright law for art market clients. Through a combination of instructional presentations and mock consultations, participants will gain a solid foundation in copyright law and its specificities as applied to works of visual arts, such as the fair use doctrine and the use of generative artificial intelligence tools.
Bootcamp participants will be provided with training materials, including presentation slides and an Art Lawyering Bootcamp handbook.
Art Lawyering Bootcamp participants with CLE tickets will receive CLE credits upon successful completion of the training modules. Non-CLE ticket holders will be observers to the mock consultations.
Are you an art market participant with copyright law questions you would like to discuss with US-licensed attorneys? You may be eligible for a free ticket to the event, in exchange for participating in the mock consultations portion. To redeem your free ticket, please email [email protected].
Financial aid is available for this event. Please see the Q&A section for more information.
