~ Artspace Aotearoa presents current exhibition Permissions with curator Robbie Handcock on site to talk to visitors about the exhibition. Permissions features three emerging artists living in Tฤmakai Makaurau Auckland after a year of deep dive engagement supported by the Artspace Aotearoa team, a mentor from this community, and in exchange with the programmeโs strategic partner, the Chartwell Trust. This yearโs edition features Yana Dombrowsky MโBaye, Dayle Palfreyman and August Ward whose practices span film, installation, sculpture and painting. The exhibition asks what are the different conditions and permissions required by artists to take up spaceโboth in and out of the artworld. In response to the Artspace Aotearoa annual question, "do I need territory?" These artists explore different orientations to situate their perspectives and worldviews.

~A contemporary art exhibition where every frame is a conversation; where art meets ritual, performance, celebration and innovation. Prepare to be inspired and challenged by the visual symphony of Anastasiya's creations. They are as much as still moments, as they capture and suggest movement, which makes them immediately absorbing and charismatic. Each piece tells a story, from the raw and unfiltered to the meticulously crafted, celebrating the power and the beauty of the feminine, inviting viewers to explore a spectrum of narratives and emotions.

~ Stevei Houkฤmau (Ngฤti Porou, Te whฤnau-ฤ-Apanui) continues her exploration of whakapapa using uku/clay and looking at forms that reference kฤkano/seeds. Previously crafted as pieces in a hei (lei/garland), she re-explores the kฤkano forms as a series of individual works. Stevei Houkฤmau is a fulltime uku artist who lives and works within the Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington Region. She has worked with clay since 2011, preferencing uku because of its ability to convey our links to the geological and spiritual past โ uniting tฤngata, tลซpuna, and whenua, while speaking to the critical connection tangata whenua have to place and earth.

~ Tim Melville is proud to present an exhibition of 13 embroidered images by Areez Katki, each of which is created over a cloth remnant collected during a collaborative research process with his grandfatherโs tailor, โMโ, in Tardeo, Mumbai. The series of 13 works continues his enquiry around queer affects / emotional responses using lost and partially-recovered material drawn from the personal, the social and the literary. The artist asks us to sit with these stories as they spill beyond an individual lifespan, and to listen to forebears as we navigate the contemporary world.
