Hondartza Fraga

My practice explores drawing as a way of thinking with materials. I am interested in processes of transformation, loss and preservation, and often work with materials that carry their own histories. My work is driven by experimentation, material behaviour and slow processes of change. My most recent works uses Whitby jet as both a drawing medium and a subject, exploring how fragments, dust, traces and residues can become forms of drawing. I am using the time at Everybody Arts to revise and reflect on lots of unseen works I have made over the last few years.

Nikki Parmenter

I am a Cheshire based artist who specialises in mixed media, textile based pieces. I take my inspiration from a variety of sources and I am particularly interested in the way in which ancient societies created a series of visual symbols to represent the things which were important to them. I investigate myth and legend and draw parallels between societies, showing that although many people have different beliefs we are all united by visual iconography.
