FLOWER CROWNS
Celebrate the first day of spring with a contemporary art-inspired Flower Crown Workshop! Guided by local artist Maggie Bessel, learn modern floral design techniques while creating your own vibrant, wearable artwork. Surrounded by nature, this hands-on session blends creativity, seasonal beauty, and artistic expression for all ages and skill levels.
This Art in the Park session will be led by Maggie Bessel, a former chef and bartender turned high school English teacher who has always followed creativity wherever it leads. She grew up adventuring around the globe and now calls Winston-Salem home. Whether crafting menus, mixing cocktails, or guiding students through stories and poems, Bessel's work is rooted in curiosity, expression, and connection. Outside the classroom, she channels that same creative energy into designing handmade flower crowns — whimsical, thoughtful pieces inspired by literature, seasons, and small moments of beauty. She believes that artistic creation is a form of storytelling, and each crown is a wearable narrative meant to be worn boldly and with joy.
