About this Event
This ‘Art in the Garden’ event is for anyone who wishes to deepen their relationship with nature while sketching or painting – no experience necessary! It will take place Saturday, May 23 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. in the garden that surrounds CWF’s headquarters in Kanata. There we can enjoy this rewarding way to engage with nature as we slow down and notice all the remarkable life that surrounds us.
Bring your own chair or blanket and pencil and paper (or whichever art supplies you prefer) and we will provide the backdrop and tips for connecting with nature through art. As part of our Gardening for Wildlife program, we will also share tips on how you can garden with wildlife in mind, to discover, appreciate and support native flora and fauna in your own outside space.
Please note that this is not an art class. We will have tips to share, however, and will be available to provide some support if direction or inspiration is needed. And remember, all you need is the interest – no artistic skill required!
This is a rain or shine event. Should weather be an issue, we will have areas inside by windows and at tables with some garden elements to use instead.
Spots are limited but whether you are able to register or not, if your experience with art is minimal, you may enjoy watching this webinar with CWF and Alan Li on the basics of sketching in nature:
