About this Event
Seeds for Growth: walks, talks and workshops.
A series of walks, talks and practical workshops for people to reconnect with nature and learn about various elements of sustainability and the natural world.
Bored of looking at a screen? Like flowers? Painting? Community vibes?
Grab a friend and come along to Art in Eden, an opportunity to observe the wildflower corridors and urban fruit trees in The Garden of Eden (and other community spaces) and to capture their beauty over the summer period.
Last year this event was kindly sponsored by Kirkstall Valley Development Trust and the art displayed as part of the Kirkstall Art Trail.
This event is now back by popular demand as part of Seeds for Growth with inclusive ticketing.
This year we will be painting not only in The Garden of Eden but also in other urban green spaces in and around Burley and Kirkstall. Details sent to those who book.
Seating will be available in all locations and all will be wheelchair accessible.
What to expect:
A big welcome from Grace (@sparkingcommunity), a short intro the space, an invite to join in a guided moment to connect and breathe, a quick names round and an optional guided warm up art task.
All art materials will be provided, including watercolour paints, pens, pencils, colouring pencils, chalks, charcoal, oil pastels and for those who like to use their words, there will be an old typewriter for creating poems and stories.
Clipboards and benches will be dotted around the space and you can go and sit wherever you want for as long as you want, to draw and paint. The perfect way to unwind and reconnect with nature.
