A new approach for SAA’s Art History Happy Hour will feature the work of local artist George Colin on Thursday, April 25. We are inviting the public to participate in the discussion by sharing the artwork they own by Colin. Marianne Stremsterfer will present a retrospective of his early work as well as his most recent pastel paintings created in the year before George passed away. Additional background stories will be shared by Yvonne Brandis, George’s niece, who will talk about his early years as he grew as an artist. Rod Buffington, long time friend of the George and his wife Winnie, will speak about how Colin reached notoriety as a successful artist by creating his own style. Audience members will be invited to either bring a photo or an actual piece of the Colin work they own and share their personal George story
