Join us this October when the Museum’s front yard is transformed into the city’s biggest cinema during the Art Hill Film Series, a St. Louis tradition of films, food, and music. This year’s featured films are Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo on October 3 and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial on October 10. Preshow festivities start at 5 pm. No tickets are required for the event. After a gentle alien becomes stranded on Earth, the being is discovered and befriended by a young boy named Elliott (Henry Thomas). Bringing the creature into his suburban California house, Elliott introduces E.T., as the alien is dubbed, to his brother and his little sister, Gertie (Drew Barrymore). The children decide to keep its existence a secret, but soon, however, E.T. falls ill, resulting in government intervention and a dire situation for both Elliott and the alien.
E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial is directed by Steven Spielberg and has a run time of 1 hour and 55 minutes.
