Decorating EDF's signature birdhouses
Did you know that there are 123 wooden birdhouses and birdhouse-themed pieces of art in EDF's office? The birdhouse theme was inspired by our office renovation in 2011, when the architectural drawings resembled a birdhouse. With the theme "A Place of Our Own," our birdhouse motif reminds us that community is where people in recovery can find safety, refuge, and a sense of belonging. Join us to create some new art of our own as we decorate a few new birdhouses for the office!
Reasons to come join us on the 26th:
- You want to look at art but are too cheap for museum tickets.
- You’ve been thinking about attending support groups but feel nervous and want to see the space first.
- You see Dani, Lydia, and McKenna’s names everywhere and want to put faces to the emails.
- You want to participate in a recovery-themed craft.
- You want to support artists in the EDF community.
- You’re curious how people express recovery, resilience, and hope through art.
- You’ve been meaning to decorate that one blank wall in your house.
- You want an easy, low-pressure way to check out EDF in person.
- You love open houses because you can come and go as you please.
- You want to meet other humans who care about eating disorder recovery.
- You’re in your “support local everything” era.
- You want to decorate some birdhouses and see your own personal touch in the office.
- You want to network… but make it meaningful.
- You want to support recovery and leave with something beautiful.
- You’re looking for a wholesome way to spend your evening.
- You’ve followed us online for a while and want to see what we’re like IRL.
- You believe art + community + recovery is a powerful combination.
- You just want to stop by, say hi, and soak in good vibes.
This event is part of Eating Disorders Awareness Week: Monday, February 23rd - Sunday, March 1st
As part of the Collaborative of Eating Disorders Organizations (CEDO), we’re honored to come together to announce Eating Disorders Awareness Week 2026, taking place February 23 – March 1, 2026.
This year’s theme is “Fighting for Change, Committed to Change.” Our community is struggling now more than ever — and the time is now for more: more access, more support, more early intervention, more education, more advocacy, and more community.
Together, we are stronger. Together, we must fight for change.
