"Vital to our ongoing support for people in our communities, is being able to respond when our local people need help. The ongoing conflict in Ukraine is devastating for its peoples and has a real impact on our people here, too. Some of the artists involved in making contributions to this fundraiser have family at risk and in danger right now. Some of our future members may well be Ukranian people fleeing the current conflict. In any case, when our member Maria brought this fundraiser opportunity to us a short time ago, we knew it was incumbent on us to help in any way we could. Many thanks to Maria, our donating artists, the Lake House Team, Peddlethorp, our guest auctioneer Shane Cortese and Harcourts Cooper & Co. For their support of this event. Profits from our Auction Gala Night, (and the works for sale) will go directly toward the Red Cross Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Appeal. We hope that in some small way this will help the innocents' caught up in this crisis. Please bid and buy generously knowing that you have made an impactful contribution through Art for a Cause."
