The Art Explora Festival and its museum-boat will dock in Xatt Pinto, Valletta Waterfront from the 21st to the 31st of March 2024. The travelling festival and its museum-boat will offer 10 days of FREE artistic and cultural programming on board and on the quayside ? This project heralds the start of an extraordinary cultural odyssey across the Mediterranean, with Malta serving as the inaugural stop in a series of captivating destinations.Get ready to embark on a cultural itinerance with the Art Explora Festival! This unique project is bringing the world's first museum-boat to the Mediterranean, making stops in 15 countries and 20 ports from 2024 to 2026 ? Designed by architects Axel de Beaufort and Guillaume Verdier, this 46.5-meter-long and 55-metre-high masterpiece will host up to 2,000 people daily! Immerse yourself in an exclusive exhibition with the outstanding collaboration of the Louvre Museum, exploring the role and representation of female figures in the Mediterranean civilisations ?️?
Dive into a sonic odyssey with captivating sound experiences, developed in partnership with Ircam X Ircam Amplify, bringing the sensations of the Mediterranean to life! ?
The festival doesn't stop there! As a commitment to contemporary creation, Art Explora offers cross-residencies, inviting artists, scientists, and researchers from visited countries to join month-long residencies on the boat and in other Mediterranean cities. Accompanied by a festival village, developed by Spazju Kreattiv in Malta and curated by Daniel Azzopardi, get ready for a quayside area filled with cultural events! ? The programme dives into local and international art scenes, addressing topics relevant to the Mediterranean region ?
