“While growing up I would visit my grandmother and she would take me out to her little flower garden and teach me about each plant. We would cut flowers and put them in vases throughout her home. So when I began my painting journey I started by painting flowers. I’d roam around my neighborhood taking photos and recreating them on canvas. Trying to capture the light, colors and texture of the flowers.”
About the Artist
Katrina Methot Swanson is a visual artist currently living and working in Omaha. She works in oils and shows her work locally at Anderson O’Brien Art Gallery and Ginger’s Hang Up. She also shows her work at the Reuben Saunders Gallery in Wichita, Kansas and the Front Four Gallery in Stowe, Vermont.
