“Follow Your Dreams" Kinusaiga Workshop: fun Saturday night in Occoquan!
Looking for something fun and relaxing to do on a Saturday night? We’ve got you! Join us on September 19, 2026, 6-8 pm, at Art a la Carte gallery for a cozy, hands-on creative experience to “paint” with fabric. Relax, create, and enjoy a cup of Moroccan tea with macarons.✨
Kinusaiga is an art technique that originated in Japan to make fabric collage art by pressing scrap fabric into pre-cut grooves on a foam board, creating textured pictures without sewing. Using custom-cut foam, our design templates, special tucking tools, and vibrant fabric scraps, you’ll create your own fabric collage art. Create your textured hot air balloon, frame it, and voilà — a unique piece of art ready to take home!
This is more than just a class — it creates space for you to slow down, decompress, try something new, and channel your creativity. The tactile, rhythmic process of cutting and tucking fabric into a foam board is grounding, satisfying, and deeply therapeutic. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking for a mindful creative escape, this workshop is perfect for you.
