About this Event
Nick’s work transforms salvaged Dade-County pine—a vanishing remnant of South Florida’s natural and cultural landscape—into stunning art pieces that tell a deeper story about resilience, loss, and our connection to the land. Through this presentation, he will explore the intersections of nature, culture, and sustainability, inviting us to reflect on how our landscapes shape us and how we, in turn, shape them.
Beyond the art: We'll also take a look at the role of native pines in our ecosystems. Learn how incorporating slash pine and its plant companions into urban landscapes can support biodiversity, promote resilience, and contribute to climate-conscious gardening.
Don't miss this thought-provoking evening at Flora of Miami! This event is free and open to the public.
Bonus: This marks our first-ever twilight event at Flora of Miami—because native plants and good conversation deserve a little moonlight. Stick around after the talk for some refreshments and mingling under the evening sky!
