Looking for something to do on a Saturday afternoon in the SUMMER 2026???
Why not join us for a Walking Tour of the Art Deco Architectural District along the Miracle Mile on Wilshire Blvd. and a visit to Hancock Park/La Brea Tar Pits/LACMA/Petersen Automotive Museum PLUS TWO ART GALLERIES???
ITINERARY:
1. Meeting location and time:
Meeting time: 11:30 AM PST
Meet at entrance to République Café Bakery & République Restaurant at address:

Some members may be running late, so we can wait 15-20 minutes for members that may be running late.
The members may chat, mingle, socialize, and get to know each other better.
Activities:
2. The members may proceed from République Café Bakery & République Restaurant on La Brea Avenue towards Wilshire Boulevard.
The group may then begin the Art Deco Architectural Walking Tour, observing the various examples of Art Deco Architecture along Wilshire Boulevard along with the architecture styles of the other buildings along Wilshire Boulevard.
The members may discuss the various styles of architecture such as:

ROCCOCO (ex. CATHERINE'S PALACE in SAINT PETERSBURG, RUSSIA; PALACE OF VERSAILLES IN PARIS, FRANCE, etc.)
BAROQUE (ex. THE HERMITAGE IN SAINT PETERSBURG, RUSSIA)

AMERICAN CRAFTSMAN (ex. THE GAMBLE HOUSE IN PASADENA)

The members may visit a local favorite art gallery to tour through and review the new art at the Spruth Magers Art Gallery located at:

6. Hancock Park, The La Brea Tar Pits & Museum, LACMA, Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, & the Petersen Automotive Museum
After the members have toured through the three art galleries listed above, the group may walk to Hancock Park, where the group may enjoy the flora and fauna of Hancock Park, consider the creatures stuck in The La Brea Tar Pits (possibly tour the La Brea Tar Pits Museum), review the architectural styles of LACMA,
Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, and the Petersen Automotive Museum, chat, mingle, socialize, and get to know the other Meetup members.
4. LACMA Cafe' and/or Ray's and Stark Bar
The group may partake of a beverage at the LACMA PLAZA. Coffee, tea, other beverages are available at the following venues:
