Art, Culture & Connection: Julio Le Parc at Tate Modern
About this Event
About this group visit
This is a small, welcoming cultural group experience where we’ll visit the ticketed exhibition together, explore it at our own pace, and gather afterwards for a relaxed chat over a drink at a cafe.
It’s an opportunity to enjoy great art, meet new people, and experience culture as part of a friendly group.
You do not need any prior knowledge of art or exhibitions – just interest and curiosity.
About the exhibition
This major retrospective celebrates the work of Argentinian artist Julio Le Parc, a pioneer of optical and kinetic art.
Spanning over seven decades of work, the exhibition is full of:
- interactive light-based installations
- moving optical illusions
- mirrored and geometric sculptures
- immersive environments that respond to how you move through them
Le Parc’s work is known for making the viewer part of the artwork itself – meaning your presence and movement help activate what you see.
It’s a playful, sensory, and visually striking exhibition that encourages curiosity, movement, and exploration.
What to expect
- Free entry to the exhibition as a group
- A relaxed pace (time to explore individually and together)
- Time to socialise and discuss the exhibition at one of the cafes at Tate Modern

About this project
Cultural experiences can offer enjoyment, inspiration, curiosity, learning, and a sense of connection. However, not everyone finds it easy to attend or feels that these spaces are for them.
Beginning with small, welcoming group visits, the project aims to address some of the financial, social, and practical barriers that can prevent people from accessing museums, galleries, theatres, and other cultural spaces, while creating opportunities to experience the benefits of engaging with culture alongside others.
About the orgnaiser
Hello, my name is Kemi, I'm an avid exhibition-goer and cultural experience enjoyer! I know first-hand the positive impact having access to art and culture can have and so I want as many people as possible, particularly those who are experiencing barriers and challenges, to experience those benefits whilst also formings connections with others.
I have worked in the creative industries for nearly a decade, and in the last 5 years have worked with a variety of art charities, and I have delivered my own personal creative and community projects too. This current project is an extension and continuation of my interests and desire to bring people together and support people's wellbeing through art, culture and creativity.
