Art Crawl is a program designed to offer infants (newborns through 14 months) and their caregivers an opportunity to experience art, build relationships, and learn together. Surrounded by Clyfford Still’s expansive body of work, Museum educators will lead participants through the galleries and provide provocations based on art exploration. Your guide will encourage an interactive discussion on the importance of introducing your baby to art at an early age and tips for experiencing art together.
The June theme is “Messy Art Making Part 1 – Exploring Clay." We will get out the clay and get messy outside! We will spend the first half of the program in the galleries exploring the unique textures of Still’s paintings, followed by time outdoors under the cantilever to explore clay. Messy art making should be just that – messy! We expect and welcome it. We will provide t-shirt smocks for your baby, but please dress to make a mess.
Space is limited and pre-registration is required (you must purchase a Museum admission ticket or register with your CSM membership during online registration). SOLD OUT!
We suggest arriving 10 minutes early to get your little one and your belongings organized before we begin the program on the Museum’s second floor in The Making Space. We encourage you to let your infant explore, follow their lead, and observe what draws their attention. This experience is the best foundation for discussing and discovering the joy of art together.
Admission: Free for CSM members, $10 adults, $8 seniors (65+), $6 teachers/college students, $1 Museums for All/Explorer Pass (with valid EBT card), free for military (5/18–9/2), always free for children ages 17 and under.
