Agenda
π: 10:00 AM - 01:00 PM
Oil & Acrylic - Tuesdays
Host: Joe Taylor - Instructor
Info: This is great class for beginners who are not afraid to take chances. Joe will help when you run into problems but does not "teach a course". Daring beginners and challenged pros will all appreciate the experience.
π: 03:00 PM - 05:00 PM
Foundational Drawing - Sundays
Host: Morgan Lyons - Instructor
Info: This class will provide you with a strong drawing foundation. Great for experienced artists, beginners, and anyone interested in learning a new discipline. You will copy historical drawings by master artists, but this is far from a step-by-step class. Instead, you'll find the process to be a creative one as you find your unique way, learning to better trust your eye and intuition.
π: 10:00 AM - 01:00 PM
Pastel Painting - Wednesdays
Host: Kathleen Newman - Instructor
Info: Kathleen demonstrates how to interpret your photo reference and create more expressive, personal work using a variety of exercises to explore unique strategies in value and color. Beginning with a photo image, she discusses methods of designing strong compositions by simplifying light and shadow patterns using grey scale markers or charcoal drawing. Her discussions include monochromatic, analogous, complements, split complements, and other color plans, balancing bright and neutral colors as well as exploring high, mid, and low key relationships within the value scale. Students work on larger paintings inspired by the color sketches.
