Inspired by the portraits featured in "The Sense of Beauty: Six Centuries of Painting from Museo de Arte de Ponce," this beginner-friendly class explores the fundamentals of portrait drawing through guided, hands-on instruction.

Participants will learn essential techniques for capturing facial proportions, angles, and expression while developing observational drawing skills and confidence in the studio. Drawing inspiration from the remarkable works on view, students will experiment with line, shading, and composition to create their own expressive portrait drawings. This class is ideal for beginners and anyone looking to strengthen their drawing foundation in a relaxed and supportive environment.

This class is designed for ages 18+. All supplies will be provided.
For questions regarding the class or registration, please email Programs Manager Neely Simms at [email protected].
Bonus! Registrants ages 21+ are welcome to stop by the OKCMOA Bar before class and bring a drink to enjoy a relaxed paint-and-sip experience.
