Explore the connections between the human body, craft, and community in this immersive, hands-on workshop led by Jordan Sheridan, featured artist in current exhibition Body Matters. Over two sessions, participants work alongside the artist to create a large-scale, hand-crocheted installation, learning simple hand-crochet techniques while contributing to a collaborative work of art.
Following the workshop, the completed installation will be displayed on Boyd Plaza, celebrating the many hands that contributed to its creation. Participants leave with new skills, a deeper appreciation for the artistry of fiber work, and the opportunity to see themselves reflected in a shared work that embodies the power of collaboration and interconnectedness. All supplies and equipment provided.
Ages 15 and up. $20 / $16 for members.
A grant from the Knight Foundation Fund at Central Carolina Community Foundation supported this project. This workshop takes place on Boyd Plaza; in the event of inclement weather it will be moved indoors.
