Inspired by featured exhibition Body Matters, this workshop explores how the body engages with handmade objects both through the process of making and through the senses. Students learn how to pour candles and personalize them with scents of their choice, creating a soothing gift for themselves or a loved one just in time for the holiday season. Students leave with two original candles made with natural ingredients.
Ages 15 and up. All supplies and equipment provided. Taught by candlemaker Danielle Tillilie. Registrants will receive an email that includes information about check-in and parking options.
$60 / $48 for members. Priority registration for members only through Tuesday, October 20.
Tillilie began making candles in 2017. Seeking an alternative to store-bought candles of unknown makeup, she began researching natural ingredients and techniques for making safe and beautifully scented candles. She has since expanded her repertoire to all things practical and fragrant for the body and home, including room spray, body cream, salt scrub, face oil, and soap.
