Art Battle is live, competitive painting like you’ve never seen before. In three fast-paced rounds, artists battle the clock and each other to create their best work in just 20 minutes. As they paint, you’ll move around the easels, witnessing the creative process up close. Grab a beverage, cast your vote to help decide the winner, and bid in a silent auction to take your favourite piece home.
This event is our annual championship, where top artists from the past year compete for a chance to win a free trip to Toronto and represent Victoria at the Art Battle National Championship!

This event takes place on the traditional territory of the lək̓ʷəŋən (Lekwungen) speaking peoples, now known as the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations.
Territorial acknowledgments are only a small step in the broader work of dismantling colonial systems that continue to impact Indigenous communities. We invite guests to move beyond acknowledgment by engaging in self-education and redistributing resources.
This event also takes place on Juneteenth, a day that marks the end of slavery in the United States and which is tied closely to Canada's celebration of Emancipation Day since August 1, 1834. Both dates are recognized as a time to reflect on Black history, liberation, and the ongoing work toward justice. In recognition of this, a portion of ticket sales will be donated to the BC Black History Awareness Society.
