About this Event
Art as Medicine: Rediscovering Joy and Healing Through Creative Expression
Art as Medicine was born from a shared recognition of how deeply we need spaces for healing in the challenging times we face in academia. Academic life, whether teaching, studying, researching, or supporting the institution in countless ways, comes with unique pressures that can quietly affect our well-being. Creative expression offers a powerful way to process, connect, and restore, and this exhibition seeks to honor that.
Hosted by the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and supported by the , this one-night exhibition will bring together creative works from students, staff, faculty, researchers, and postdocs across Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC).
Through visual art, sculpture, writing, digital media, and performance, this exhibition creates a compassionate space where individual stories become part of a collective dialogue. It is a celebration of resilience, a recognition of struggle, and an affirmation of the healing power of creativity.
