Art, Architecture and Appetizers
About this Event
Art has a way of shaping how we see the world, while architecture defines the spaces in which we live, gather, and connect. Art, Architecture and Appetizers brings these elements together for an engaging and immersive evening. Start the night at the Dana L. Wiley Gallery to view exhibition featuring the contemporary sculpture and photography of visiting artist, Elizabeth Mead. The evening continues with a short commute to the beautifully restored Huffman Black. Step into a remarkable piece of Dayton history—a distinguished home built in 1898 and situated in the Huffman Historic District. With its elegant towers, limestone porch, and intricate bracketed cornices, the residence is a beautiful example of turn-of-the-century architecture and a reflection of the ambition and craftsmanship of its era. The land and home was a gift from William P. Huffman, owner of the Davis Sewing Machine Company, a Dayton enterprise that would become an important predecessor to the Huffman Bicycle Company, better known today as Huffy Bicycles. Join us for an intimate evening in this historic setting, where the past provides a backdrop for conversation, inspiration, and discovery. Enjoy thoughtfully selected wines from Dayton's premier wine bar, Joui Wine alongside curated exquisite appetizers from Saltblock Biscuit Company as we gather to experience the architecture, history, and creative spirit embodied in this unique event.
