8:30 PM – 9:30 PM 🎤 Art & Poetry After Dark

Live art, spoken word, and music hosted by Makeeta Le Model. This is where vibes meet visuals—an open mic and live performance experience unlike any other.

9:30 PM – 10 PM 👨🏽‍🎨 Artist Talk & Intermission

This intermission centers the visual artist in residence, offering an intimate walkthrough of select works on display. Guests are invited by Gallery Curator Toya Goodman to engage in a brief Artist Q&A and are encouraged to support the artist by purchasing original artwork, limited merchandise, or make a direct contribution in support of the artist’s work.

10 PM- Close | 🌙 After Dark Session

When the lights dim and the room settles, the After Dark Session begins. This final hour offers a more relaxed, intimate atmosphere where creatives explore layered emotions, storytelling, and sound in a space curated for mature audiences and late-night connection.

Featured Visual Artist: Maya Matheison

Maya Matheison is an abstract artist who uses her work to challenge and reshape perceptions of abstract art. Through textured pieces created with acrylic paint, spray paint, and plaster, she seeks to evoke deep emotional responses in her viewers. Her art embraces imperfection and intentional fragmentation, inviting audiences to project their own interpretations onto each piece. Experienced from every angle, her work encourages a transformative understanding of abstract art.

My name is Grody, a self-taught artist from North Carolina. Through my work, I explore the idea that no matter how beautiful something may appear on the surface, there is always a deeper story within. I aim to reveal both the hidden complexities and the unexpected beauty found in what many might consider unappealing.

At the core of my art is a powerful message: only you have the ability to define yourself and shape the empire you’re building.
