Buddy's and Art All Night presents an evening of music celebrating the rich culture of Detroit. Chicagoan turned Washingtonian Dante' Pope is curating a sonic experience featuring the music of Detroit's own J Dilla mixed with his original compositions with his trio, The Jazz Collective.

Dante’ Pope is a multi-genre, multi-disciplinary, international touring percussionist and vocalist born and raised on the west side of Chicago. His percussive style has crossed and blended genres and cultures across the country. In 2019 he was featured on Grammy-nominated album Black Cowboys with Dom Flemons and Smithsonian Folkways. He was featured on NPR's Tiny Desk as Music Director and member of The Crossrhodes band featuring DC's own, Wes Felton and Raheem DeVaughn as most recently as a member of 2x Grammy award-winning country group Old Crow Medicine Show. single,“Proof,” comes after a slight hiatus from his solo career given his love for collaboration.“Proof,” was born out of a longing to put all his influences in a bottle; gospel, spirituals, blues, soul and jazz. The song is akin to the nuance of the great Bill Withers, mixed with Delta blues guitar riffs as a nod to his family's roots in North Delta Mississippi. Creating a night of music honoring a producer/musician/artist who blended so many sounds and musical styles is only fitting for an artist like Dante' Pope.
