This volunteer-organized, fun 5K Run/Walk takes place on the beautiful, historic campus of IPS Arsenal Technical High School and aims to combine health, history and a sense of community. Young runners and children are encouraged to participate. It is a casual, mixed-terrain 5k course (asphalt, concrete, brick, grass, gravel). Race starts at 9:00 a.m., and on-site registration and bib pickup start at 8:00 a.m.Participate along with friends, family or your neighborhood as a team, or join in as an individual. High school seniors who would like to be eligible for an individual scholarship need to participate in some way - either completing the race or volunteering. Race entries for students are free, but do not include a race t-shirt.
Since its inception in 2000, the Arsenal 5K Run/Walk has donated more than $65,000 in college scholarships to Near Eastside high school seniors, and currently awards funds to extracurricular clubs at Arsenal Technical High School.
