Join Textile Artist Kirstie Macleod in this Around the World workshop where participants will create a "World Embroidery Sampler", learn and stitch motifs and techniques inspired by different cultures whose stitching is represented in panels in the Red Dress. These stitches include:
Otomi embroidery motifs from Mexico
Bedouin-inspired palm motifs
Border stitches used by Lambani women originally from Afghanistan and now living in southern India
Other stitches and decorative traditions gathered from around the world through the Red Dress project.
The cost is $110.00 per person which includes a kit comprising pre-printed design, threads, beads, needles, and a Red Dress Stitch Booklet. Participants will need to bring scissors and a hoop (if desired).
