About this Event
Arn Chorn-Pond’s name resonates throughout the world as a symbol of resilience and hope. Born in Cambodia, Arn’s early years were marked by unimaginable hardship. As a child, he survived the horrors of the Khmer Rouge genocide by playing traditional flute music in a Pr*son camp – a skill that became his lifeline. His journey from the fields of Cambodia to becoming an internationally recognized advocate for human rights and peace is a powerful testament to the human spirit’s ability to persevere though darkness and emerge into light.
Inspired by Arn’s remarkable journey, The Orchestra on the Hill will premiere two original compositions by G. Paul Naeger and Thomas Palance that reflect Arn’s lived experience and the enduring power of art to heal and rebuild communities. We hope the collaboration will stir your spirit, touch your heart, and spur meaningful conversations long after the music fades.
