Armley Mills in Leeds, Yorkshire, was first built back in the 16th Century, the mills were sold to Colonel Thomas Lloyd who expanded them.Sold to Benjamin Gott in 1788, the building became what was then, the world’s largest woollen mill.
In 1805 the mill was almost destroyed by fire.
Armley Mills employed young cheap labour. Children as young as six. Conditions were pretty dire, to say the least, working very long hours in horrible, dusty conditions. This resulted in many deaths from exhaustion, machine accidents and respiratory problems.
Armley closed in 1969 and Leeds Council took over due to it's historic importance, it is now the very popular Leeds Industrial Museum.
PARANORMAL ACTIVITY.
Due to the terrible history of this building, it is little wonder there have been many reports of paranormal experiences.
The most commonly reported experience of all, is doors slamming shut then shooting open.
Visitors often report of being pushed forcefully by unseen hands. There has been an apparition of a gent in a top hat and cape. Is it him that staff and visitors have also heard whispering in their ears?
Many get sudden strong whafts of pipe tobacco, some of smoke from a fire.
Once, loud footsteps were recorded echoing down the corridor when the group is all alone in one isolated area and audio of children laughing.
There has been several peoples saying of seeing an apparition of a woman in a long, black dress who goes as quickly as she appears.
Items such as cotton bobbins being thrown.
The feeling of tugging on lower garments, as though a small child is trying to get your attention?

We have complete access to all parts of this massive place. We use modern and old school techniques, and you too can get hands on once shown how to use the variety of equipment.
You can of course bring your on equipment, use any techniques you like and of course take as much videos and images as you like. This is YOUR investigation!
Lovely hot drinks and snacks will be provided for you to enjoy.
