Velkommen til den syvende utgaven av Arkitekturfilm Oslo 20.-23. oktober!

På åpningsdagen torsdag 20.oktober braker det løs:
Vi viser Nathan Eddys "Battleship Berlin" (2021), på Vega Scene, hvor Eddy selv deltar i samtale etter visningen, vi går videre til utstillingsåpning på ROM med den norske kunstneren Inger Lise Hansen, så blir det afterparty på Khartoum Contemporary!

Årets festival handler om arkitektur og tid, og hvordan vårt syn på arkitektur hele tiden endrer seg.
Programrådet har valgt filmer med utgangspunkt i at arkitektur er statisk konstant. Samtidig reflekterer den blant annet samtidens samfunn, økonomi, estetikk. Mens tidene forandrer seg blir den bygde arkitekturen stående uendret, og virkeligheten - som er flytende relativ - defineres av øyet som ser fra ulike vinkler, til ulike tider. Dette forholdet mellom det statiske og det flytende belyses på ulike måter gjennom programmets filmer.
Arkitektur er ikke bare et verktøy for byutvikling - for endring, fornyelse og eventuell forbedring av byen og samfunnet. På lik linje med film, musikk, billedkunst, litteratur og scenekunst er arkitektur en forståelsesramme i vår samtid. ROM lager Arkitekturfilm Oslo fordi vi ser denne økende interessen for å diskutere arkitektur og byutvikling som del av kultur og samfunn. Vi lever i en tid med raske kulturelle endringer der vår forståelse av byen og stedene og de fysiske omgivelsene formes og oppdateres fortløpende. Arkitekturen er del av «den store sammenhengen» hvor vi alle berøres og påvirkes av arkitekturen rundt oss og dens utforming.
Årets samarbeidsarenaer er Vega Scene, Nasjonalmuseet og Kunstnernes Hus Kino. Vi arrangerer også filmvisninger og workshop for barn og unge på utvalgte Deichman bibliotek i Oslo.
Arkitekturfilm Oslo 2022 mottar støtte fra Viken Filmsentral, Oslo kommune Kulturetaten, Stiftelsen Fritt Ord og Goethe instituttet, og filmprogrammet for barn og unge er støttet av Sparebankstiftelsen DNB.

Welcome to the 7th edition of Arkitekturfilm Oslo 20 – 23 October!
At the opening day Thursday 20 October, we are proud to announce that
We will be screening Nathan Eddy`s “Battleship Berlin” (2021) at Vega Scene, followed by a conversation with Eddy, we will continue to ROM for the opening of the festival exhibition with artist Inger Lise Hansen, and meet at the Afterparty at Khartoum Contemporary!

This year’s festival revolves around the theme of architecture and time, and how our perspective of architecture is evolving.
The programme committee has selected movies based upon the fact that architecture is constantly a static phenomenon. At the same time it reflects on today’s civilization, economic conditions economic conditions and aesthetics. While times change, the structure of buildings remains unaffected, whereas reality — a conception that is both relative and drifting — is defined by the eye that sees, from different points of view. This relation, between what’s static and fluctuating, is an ongoing topic that will be enlightened throughout the programme.
Architecture is not just a device for the development or transformation of urban areas, and improvement of society. Like movies, music, literature, performance and visual arts, architecture is a way of understanding our current time. Perceptions of our physical surroundings and the places we live in are rapidly changing in a world that’s always moving forward. Architecture is, in a way, part of «the big picture» that impacts us by its construction and shape. ROM has decided to put together Arkitekturfilm Oslo in reference to this expanded interest in discussing architecture and urban development, in an effort to continue cultivating our culture and community.

Venues in 2022 are Vega Scene, The National Museum, Kunstnernes Hus Cinema. We also organize screenings and workshop for kids and young people at local libraries.
Arkitekturfilm Oslo 2022 has received funding from Viken Filmsenter, Oslo City Council for Cultural Affairs, The Fritt Ord Foundation and the Goethe Institute, and the program for kids is supported by Sparebankstiftelsen DNB
