Arketa Foundation’s mission is to educate and teach empowerment-based self-defense designed to imbue women and girls with skills that will lead to increased awareness, confidence, and safety. This program is focused on violence prevention. Our seven-hour self-defense class is taught in one to four sessions. We will cover the following:
SITUATIONAL AWARENESS
INTUITION AND BIAS
BOUNDARY SETTING
OUR BODY’S FIGHT, FLIGHT, FREEZE & FAWN RESPONSE
DE-ESCALATION TECHNIQUES
PHYSICAL & VERBAL SELF-DEFENSE
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
TRAFFICKING IN AMERICA
Our class is for women of all ages. Girls ages 12-17 must be accompanied by an adult. This is a physical class so please wear comfortable clothing, shoes, and bring a water bottle. As this is an all-day Saturday class, please bring a sack lunch.
