Arion Press invites you to celebrate the release of our upcoming book Declare: A Civic Gospel with a dynamic conversation featuring President & CEO of Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, Jane Kamensky. Join us for a vibrant program highlighting the making of the book, this exciting partnership with Monticello, and the importance of craft in shaping this founding document.
Printed by letterpress and hand-assembled and bound at Arion Press in San Francisco, Declare: A Civic Gospel embodies the craft and collaboration that founded American democracy.
Doors open at 3:00 PM at the Bayfront Theater on the third floor of Landmark Building B at Fort Mason.
This talk will coincide with an open house & activity day taking place directly before the event at Arion Press, located on the ground floor of Landmark Building B.

Dr. Jane Kamensky is President & CEO of Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello. A leading historian of early America, she served as the Trumbull Professor of American History at Harvard and directed the Schlesinger Library on the History of Women in America. She has also worked with the Smithsonian, the Museum of the American Revolution, and Educating for American Democracy. Jane is the author of several acclaimed books, including "A Revolution in Color" and "Candida Royalle and the Sexual Revolution."
