ARIKI STARS PROJECT AT NATHAN HOMESTEAD, FEEONAA CLIFTON & ANI O’NEIL

Acclaimed artists and members of The Pacific Sisters, Feeonaa Clifton and Ani O’Neill bring their Ariki Stars project to Manurewa. A project centred around strengthening and developing our community ties, as we reflect and connect, to celebrate Matariki 2023.Ariki Stars embodies the process of weaving, with each participant bringing their collective past into the present to create for the future. Our individual wairua and ancestral bloodlines mingle through the physical process of weaving the strands of each new Ariki Star.We invite you to participate in weaving the Ariki Stars in our weekly drop in sessions, Tuesdays and Saturdays, 10am-2pm, from 24 April –24 June.Every session will focus on one of the nine Matariki starts, that will contribute to the final Ariki Stars installation, to be exhibited during Matariki 2023 at Nathan Homestead. Join us for a single session, or contribute to each star, and be part of this beautiful intertwining of our community.
