Join our next Arif Urban Agrarian Collective (AUAC) Workday at the Peace Garden!

Growing season is in full swing and we are still working on establishing more beds at the farm, come through!!

This month we will have our dear friends from POC Fungi Community. POC Fungi Community is a community-led organization that is dedicated to increasing access to fungi and their benefits to all marginalized communities.

POC Fungi Community facilitates mycology-related events and education programs, working at the intersections of climate justice, food access, and social justice. The group was co-founded by local San Diego parent and naturalist, Mario Ceballos (he/they), who is an Indigenous person of Yaqui ancestry. Mario has a deep interest, passion, and expertise in exploring community-centered educational opportunities in the natural world through an inclusive, ecological, medicinal, and Indigenous ancestral lens. Mario will be speaking about their work in reclaiming the powerful huitlacoche, an Indigenous fungus that grows naturally on corn.

Come join us for our monthly workday at the farm!

After that, we will enjoy a nutritious meal and a fruitful discussion with Mario/POC Fungi Community. Make sure to bring a food container, utensils, and a cup to help us minimize waste!

We will have more water and restrooms on site!
