seek a cast of 14- 18 versatile musical theatre performers.
Performers of all races and ethnicities, genders and abilities are encouraged to audition.
OPEN AUDITIONS: Sunday, April 12 from 6-10PM
Please reserve your audition spot at arenadinnertheatre.org/auditions starting in March.
Arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your time to fill out your audition form. (Doors will open @ 5:30PM)

Everyone should be prepared to...
Sing approx. 32 bars of a song of your choosing. Selections from GRAND HOTEL are encouraged, but not required. Anyone unable to prepare anything else is welcome to sing the provided selection. We will have an accompanist if you want to bring sheet music AND a bluetooth speaker if you want to bring a device with an accompaniment track.
CALL-BACK / MAKE-UP AUDITION: Monday, April 13 @7PM
Location: Arena Dinner Theatre, 719 Rockhill St. (Enter the main doors on Rockhill.)
Actors needed at Call-Backs will be notified via call or text immediately following open auditions.

CASTING NOTIFICATIONS: Via phone or email asap following auditions.
REHEARSALS: Rehearsals begin April 26 or 27 and run thru June 11; and MAY be held 4-5 days per week, Monday-Friday (7-10PM) and/or Sunday (Time TBA). Not all dates will be used and not all actors will be called for all rehearsals. A specific schedule based on cast availability will be made after casting.

CHARACTERS:
Erik: Male. Age 25+. The assistant concierge who is deeply in love with his wife. Eager to start a family. Intelligent, devoted.
Zinnowitz: Male. Age 35+. An attorney in Berlin. The secretary for the company under Preysing's direction. Encourages Preysing to lie. Ambitious, greedy, and willing to do whatever it takes.
Hermann Preysing: Male. Age 40-60. General Director of a large textile mill. A solid burgher blinded by riches and terrified of losing his life style. He uses lies and money to get what he wants.
Otto Kringelein: Male. Age 35+. A mortally ill bookkeeper from the small town life looking for new excitement. He is a smart man wanting to live life to the fullest while he can. Humble, joyous, and grateful.
Baron Felix Von Gaigern: Male. Age 25-40. Athletic, charming, and optimistic but broke. Wishes to be immoral. A good guy who loves life in the fast lane and falls in love with Grushinskaya.
Raffaela: Female. Age 35+. Confidante, secretary, and Elizaveta's dresser. Secretly loves Grushinskaya and wants to protect her always. Hardworking, dependable, and smart.
Flaemmchen: Female. Age 18-35. A pretty girl who has theatrical ambitions, she wants to go to America and appear in movies. Constantly conflicted between her ambition and her morals.
Elizaveta Grushinskaya: Female. Age 40+. The still-beautiful, world famous, Prima Ballerina on the verge of retirement. Finds herself feeling old until she is revived by the young Baron's love. Demands only the best from herself and for her fans.
The Two Jimmys. Male. Age 20-40. Two energetic and charming bartenders/entertainers at the hotel. Ethnicity: African American preferred.
Colonel Doctor Otternschlag: Male. Age 50+. A permenantly wounded, ruined and cynical permanent resident of the hotel. He offers an observant but world-weary commentary on those who come and go.
Hotel Staff: Small but versatile ensemble of male and female performers to play the operators, maids, bellhops of the Grand Hotel.
