"The Neighborhood" is a heartwarming, community-driven event celebrating music, mental health awareness, and solidarity. With over fifty performers, including a community choir, string octet, and jazz trio, this unique show will feature original songs from "On Greenwich Way" alongside both popular and obscure covers. The performance will explore the effects of unaddressed mental health trauma and the power of community connection, all while being inspired by the spirit of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. "The Neighborhood" is an independent music collective led by Aren Long and Alex Breckenridge. The group focuses on creating impactful works that deal with themes of mental health awareness, community solidarity, and trauma rehabilitation. The Neighborhood works both in the recording studio and in live performance, often assembling a unique and diverse “neighborhood” of artists for each production. Past projects include the studio album On Greenwich Way, UNR’s "Cabaret the Musical" and Reno Little Theater’s "The Spongebob Musical."
