I make artwork based on what’s going on in my life. I’m often inspired by the everyday events that make up my days. A conversation. Nature. A lady driving down the road yelling into her phone about her ex. I have a cast of characters who show up. I believe they are part of my internal dialogue. A long form play going on over the course of my life. I take mental notes. I work intuitively. I make work the way some would maybe write in a journal. Daily. What comes up comes out. This body of work is no different. After life altering events I’ve found myself moving past grief. Tip toeing by it respectfully. Growing into a new life. Welcoming the growing pains like a warm hug. Making work is my way of trying to understand the world and myself. Forever curious. Finding the humor and the strange in everyday life.
